WKC ROSTFREI 60 23cm German Trap door 1957 vintage Gravity knife military

Vintage WKC ROSTFREI 23cm German Military OTF Gravity knife was made in 1957 for the German military by Weyersberg Kirschbaum & Cie company in Solingen Germany. This one measures 23.4cm (9 3/16 inches) open and 5.25 inches closed with a steel frame and nickel (German) silver bolsters, lanyard ring, trapdoor and release lever. The blade appears to be 98% full or better with some of the original finish and stamped on the face a Knight's helmet outline over WKC over ROSTFREI over 57. Unfortunately someone has done a poor job of sharpening this knife in the past and left many deep scratches as well as many light scratches. The black scales are in good condition with some wear and lots of light scuffs/handling marks. The good news is that the blade is nearly full where many of these have seen more use and blade loss over the years. Most of the scratches could be carefully cleaned off without hurting the blade markings. Knife works great. Blade drops out if pointed down and release pressed and falls back into the knife if pointed up when button pressed. (with trapdoor open of course) VG- condition overall.
