Vintage WEIDMANNS HEIL SOLINGEN GERMANY 11cm German Lever Shell Puller Jigged bone automatic knife most likely made in the 1960s or 70s. This knife is very similar to the one used in the movie The Outsiders from 1983. It measures 11.5cm (4.5 inches) closed not counting the pullers and 19.6cm (7 11/16 inches) open with brass liners and 2 steel bolsters (back), 2 German (nickel) silver bolsters (front) & lever. The spear point blade with nail nick is 99% full or better with original finish and is stamped WEIDMANNS HEIL SOLINGEN GERMANY on the tang and reverse stamped ROSTFREI SOLINGEN. The dyed jigged bone scales (handles) are in great condition and very attractive and the bottom bolster is stamped SPRINGER. The shell pullers are marked C. 16 on the front and C. 12 on the rear. The lever is stamped DRGM. The knife works well with blade tip below the liners closed, Strong snap and TIGHT lockup open. No rattle if shaken with blade open. EX+ condition. Similar to the knife used by Johnny Cade in the Outsiders movie.
