This is a vintage late 1950s picklock switchblade made in Japan. This is one of the knives from the 2020 Mexico find. This is a brand new knife made in the late 1950s that was never sold retail. This is one of the New Old Stock switchblade knives found in a warehouse in Mexico in 2020. The knives were mostly Japanese and Italian switchblades from the late 1950s and had been forgotten in storage in Mexico for about 60 years! It's basically a new knife and comes with a laminated certificate of authenticity. It measures 4 7/8" closed and just under 9 inches (22.5cm) open with brass liners, button and safety cap and nickel silver bolsters and lanyard ring. The blade is stamped STAINLESS STEEL and is full with the original factory finish intact. The Blue swirl plastic scales are in near perfect condition. The knife works great with blade tip seating deep, good snap and tight lockup. The safety does not work, which is more proof that many did not work when they left the factory, but not very important on a special knife like this. Great NOS 9 inch Japanese blue picklock!
