Japanese picklock 9 inch white switchblade

This is a vintage late 1950s or 1960s picklock switchblade made in Japan. These knives were inspired by Italian switchblades of the period and are good quality, though not the same level as the 1950s Italian knives. It measures 4 7/8" closed and 9 inches open with brass liners. The blade is stamped STAINLESS STEEL and is full with the original factory finish intact. Light scratches from very light sharpening. The white plastic scales are in excellent condition with no cracks, or chips. The bolsters and lanyard ring are nickel silver and the button and safety cap are brass. The knife works great with blade tip seating deep, good snap and tight lockup (though lockup is not as good as Italian knives due to lighter backspring). Great old Japanese picklock!
