Japanese 11 inch picklock black with lanyard

This is a late 50s or 1960s picklock made in Japan. These knives were inspired by Italian switchblades from the 1950s and earlier. Though not quite the same quality as the Italian knives, these are very well made. The knife measure 6 inches closed and 10.75 inches open with brass liners. These larger picklocks are less common. The blade is marked STAINLESS STEEL and is 99% full with nearly all of the original factory finish intact. Someone did do a bad job of sharpening the knife leaving some scratches and light grind marks that could be cleaned if desired. Overall a great blade! The black synthetic scales are in great condition with no cracks or chips. The knife has nickel silver bolsters, like the Italian knives, but had brass button and safety cap. Fancy scrolled nickel silver lanyard ring. The knife works like new with blade tip seating deep, good snap and tight lockup. These knives have a unique "thwak" sound when the open, different than most other switchblades. These are really cool knives.
