Vintage STAINLESS STEEL JAPAN VALOR 187-S 17cm Japanese FAKE switchblade hump back knife made in 1960s in Japan. This one looks like a switchblade and even has a spring loaded button, but it's not automatic. It's just a manual folder lockback, but pretty cool. They made these knives after the importation of switchblades became illegal just before 1960. The knife measures 17.3cm (6 7/8 inches) open and just under 4 inches closed with steel liners and bolsters and nickel silver spring loaded button. The spear point blade is full with factory finish and has a nail nick with ricasso stamped STAINLESS STEEL JAPAN on the front and VALOR 187-S on the reverse. Black synthetic handles (scales) are held on with brass pins. Knife works great with proper pressure from backspring (walk & talk) and locks open well. Push on hump (lock) on backspring to release the blade to close. EX- condition.
