Stainless Steel ITALY 28cm Italian FALSE BUTTON lockback Vintage manual knife most likely made in the 1960s after switchblades production virtually stopped in Italy. After the Switchblade Act of 1958 switchblades could no longer be imported to the US so the Italian cutlers started making knives that looked like switchblades, but not automatic. This is one of those knives. It measures 27.5cm (10 13/16 inches) open with brass liners and nickel silver bolsters and button. The button is spring loaded so you can press it like a switchblade, but it serves no other function. The clip blade is 98% or better with original finish and light scratches and the ricasso is stamped Stainless Steel in script over ITALY. The genuine buffalo horn scales are dark with some brown streaking and in good condition. The knife works just as it's supposed to. You open the blade using the nail nick and it locks open nicely. To close the knife you push down on the hump on the backspring to release the blade to be closed. VG+ condition.
