STAINLESS STEEL 28cm Japanese Picklock 1960s Vintage automatic knife

This is a late 50s or 1960s picklock made in Japan. These knives were inspired by Italian switchblades from the 1950s and earlier. Though not quite the same quality as the Italian knives, these are very well made. The knife measures 27.7cm (11 inches) open with brass liners, button, safety cap and pins. The blade is marked STAINLESS STEEL and is full with nearly all of the original factory finish intact and just a few light scratches. The black synthetic scales are in good condition with no shrinkage, cracks or chips, but there is a scratch between top pins on the front scale and lots of little scuffs from handling over the years. The knife has nickel silver bolsters, like the Italian knives, but had brass button and safety cap and has a fancy scrolled nickel silver lanyard ring. The knife works like new with blade tip seating deep and centered, good snap and tight lockup. These knives have a unique "thwak" sound when the open, different than most other switchblades. These are really cool knives. Safety works. EX condition.
