Vintage STAINLESS STEEL 27cm Japanese Swing guard Rizzuto Step bolster Black vintage automatic knife with regular guards made in Japan in the 1960s. It measures 26.5cm (10 9/16 inches) open and 5 13/16 inches closed with steel liners, bolsters & guards, and nickel plated brass button and safety cap with most of the plating gone from wear and nickel silver lanyard ring. The bayonet style blade is 98% full or better with original factory finish and the ricasso is stamped STAINLESS STEEL. Although this knife is not stamped RIZZUTO ESTILETO MILANO on the face, it was made at the same factory at the same time as the ones with that marking so it's the same and just as likely used in movies over the years. The black synthetic scales are in good condition with some shrinkage, light handling marks and some scuffs and are held on with 4 brass pins on the front and 3 brass pins on the back. The top (front) bolsters are called Step bolsters because they step down in size near the front. The knife works well with blade tip even with the liners closed, strong snap and good lockup with less than 1/8" down at the tip, but springs back when you let go and stays open nicely. Barely rattles if shaken with blade open. Safety works. VG+ condition.
