STAINLESS STEEL 23cm Japanese Picklock 1960s Vintage Black automatic knife

Vintage STAINLESS STEEL 23cm Japanese Picklock Black automatic knife made in Japan in the 1960s. These knives were inspired by Italian switchblades of the period and are good quality, though not the same level as the 1950s Italian knives. It measures 22.3cm (8.75 inches) open and 4 7/8 inches closed with brass liners, button & safety cap and nickel silver bolsters & decorated lanyard ring. The bayonet blade is stamped STAINLESS STEEL and is 96% full or better with most of the original factory finish intact. The black plastic scales are in excellent condition with no cracks, or chips and held on with brass pins. The bolsters and lanyard ring are nickel silver and the button and safety cap are brass. The knife works great with blade tip seating deep, good snap and very good lockup with less than 1/16" movement at the tip. Does not rattle if shaken with blade open. Safety works. VG+ condition.
