Vintage STAINLESS STEEL 22cm Rizzuto Estileto Milano style White swing guard automatic knife. Identical to the ones that are stamped Rizzuto and obviously made by the same factory and around the same time, but this one is only stamped STAINESS STEEL. These knives were used in over 80 movies from the 1960s through the 90s and are therefore very popular with switchblade & movie enthusiasts. This is the most common 9 inch size, but less common white color. These knives were actually made in Japan in the 1960s and 70s mostly and were inspired by Italian switchblades of the era. They were very affordable which is probably why they were often used by movie prop departments.
The knife measures 22cm (8 11/16 inches) open and 4.75 inches closed with steel liners, bolsters & guards and brass button & safety cap with decorated nickel silver lanyard ring. The bayonet blade is 99% full or better with original factory finish with some light scratches and the tang is stamped STAINLESS STEEL. The white synthetic scales are in great condition and held on with brass pins. The knife works well with the blade tip seating deep & centered closed, good snap and tight lockup. Safety works. EX+ condition. Nice example of a vintage "Italian style" movie prop switchblade.
