SOLID RPK 24cm Russian Prison Knife Swing Guard Heavy Duty automatic knife most likely made in a Soviet Prison sometime between 1960 and 1980. It is believed that they let the prisoners make them in order to sell to raise funds for the prison and to be given away as gifts/bribes by prison officials & guards. This is a very special swing guard made to fit a large hand and it feels Really Good in the hand with Super Tight lockup open! It measures 24cm (9 11/16 inches) open and about 5.5 inches closed (hard to measure) with steel liners, bolsters, one piece guard & button. The modified straightback blade is 100% full with all of the original finish and no markings. The brown synthetic scales are in excellent condition and the multi level backspring has interesting file work. The knife works GREAT! Blade tip DEEP & centered closed, STRONG snap and SUPER TIGHT lockup open! This knife is a TANK! EX condition.
