Vintage SNAPPY Colonial Keychain switchblade knife made in USA by the Colonial Knife Co of Providence RI in the late 1940s/early 50s and was designated the model #1200. It's a fishtail keychain knife that measures 2 5/8" closed and just under 4 7/16" open with brass liners, steel button and nickel silver safety. The blade is stamped SNAPPY COLONIAL PROV USA, though faded and hard to read, and is 99% full with patina, light scratches and a little spotting. Good blade. The Caramel colored synthetic scales are in nice condition with no cracks or chips and slight shrinkage. The knife works great with the blade tip slightly above the liners closed, good snap and very good lockup with just a slight movement. Nice example of an early Snappy fishtail keychain switchblade. Safety works. VG+ condition.
