SHAPLEIGH HDW CO Medium double Caramel swirl Tip bolster vintage automatic knife

Vintage SHAPLEIGH HDW CO Medium double Caramel swirl automatic knife made by the Schrade Cutlery Co of Walden, NY sometime between 1916 and 1946. The knife measures 3 3/8" closed and 6 13/16 inches open with brass liners and nickel silver bolsters, buttons and safeties. Both blades are 96% full or better and shiny. Main spear blade marked SHAPLEIGH HDW CO around a diamond shape with DE inside (Diamond Edge trademark) and pen blade is stamped US PATS DEC 21, 09, SEPT 13, 10 & JUNE 6, 16. Caramel swirl celluloid scales (handles) are in good condition with no cracks. The knife works well with both blade tips below the liners closed, open fully and good lockup with a little movement. Does not rattle if shaken with blades open. Both safeties work. VG+ condition.
