SHAPLEIGH DE HDW CO Small 2 7/8" Sterling B23 Double Deluxe Scroll automatic knife made under contract by Schrade Cutlery Co of Walden, NY sometime between 1935 and 1946. The knife measures 2 7/8 inches closed and 5 7/8 inches with both blades open with nickel silver liners, plated buttons & safeties. Spear/pen blade combo with both blades 95% full, or better with heavy patina, spotting & light pitting. Large blade stamped SCHRADE CUT CO WALDEN NY and pen blade US PATS DEC 21, 09, SEPT 13, 10 & JUNE 6, 16. The scales (handles) are Sterling Silver and both stamped STERLING and in very good condition with minor handling/use flaws. The knife works well with both blade tips even with the liners closed, open fully and lock with no kickback. Both have slight up and down at the tips, but does not rattle if shaken with blades open. Safeties work. VG+ condition.
