z Schrade Walden vintage MC1 Orange military paratrooper switchblade

Schrade Walden vintage MC1 Orange military paratrooper switchblade knife. This knife was made for the US government under contract by Schrade Walden into the 1960s. These knives also saw use by NASA and carried into space with astronauts as well as other government agencies. The knife measures 4.25 inches closed and 7 3/8 inches with clip blade open and it has steel liners and nickel silver button & safety. The clip blade is opened automatically by pressing the button and the hook blade opens manually. Typically paratroopers deployed with the hook blade in the open position for quick emergency use. The clip blade is marked Schrade Walden NY USA STAINLESS and is nearly full with original factory finish and some scratches. The hook blade is basically unused. The orange jigged scales are in very good condition with just a little shrinkage and a little dirty and slightly warped near the button, which makes it a little harder to press unless you use your thumbnail. The knife works great with the clip blade even with the liners closed, good snap and TIGHT lockup when open. Safety works. EX- condition.
