Schrade Walden vintage MC1 Orange military paratrooper switchblade

Schrade Walden vintage MC1 Orange military paratrooper switchblade knife. This knife was made for the US government under contract by Schrade Walden into the 1960s. These knives also saw use by NASA and were carried into space with astronauts as well as being used by other government agencies. The knife measures 4.25 inches closed and just under 7 3/8 inches with clip blade open and it has steel liners and nickel silver button, safety and lanyard ring. The clip blade is opened automatically by pressing the button and the hook blade opens manually. Typically paratroopers deployed with the hook blade in the open position for quick emergency use. The clip blade is marked Schrade Walden NY USA STAINLESS and is full with original factory finish and some very light scratches. The hook blade is like new condition and works perfectly. The orange jigged scales are in great condition with just a little shrinkage and this is the later 4 pin version. The knife works great with the clip blade tip below liners when closed, good snap and very good lockup when open. Comes with cord attached to lanyard ring. Safety works. EX+ condition.
