Schrade Walden vintage MC1 Orange military paratrooper switchblade

Schrade Walden vintage MC1 Orange military paratrooper switchblade knife. This knife was made for the US government under contract by Schrade Walden into the 1960s. These knives were issued to soldiers and various government agencies including NASA and were carried into space by astronauts. The knife measures 4.25 inches closed and 7 3/8 inches with clip blade open and it has steel liners. The clip blade is opened automatically by pressing the button and the hook blade opens manually. Typically paratroopers deployed with the hook blade in the open position for quick emergency use. The clip blade is marked Schrade Walden NY USA and is full and shiny with some scratches. The hook blade is like new condition and works perfectly. The orange jigged scales are in very good condition with a little shrinkage and this is the earlier 3 pin version. The knife works great with the clip blade tip even with the liners when closed, good snap and good lockup when open with about 1/8: up and down at the tip. Rattles if shaken with blade open as most of these do after seeing use. Safety works. EX condition.
