Schrade Walden vintage MC1 Orange military paratrooper switchblade

Vintage Schrade Walden MC1 Orange military paratrooper switchblade knife made for the US government under contract by Schrade Walden into the 1960s. These knives also saw use by NASA and carried into space with astronauts as well as used by other government agencies. The knife measures 4.25 inches closed and 7.25 inches with blade open and it has steel liners & lanyard ring with nickel silver button & safety. The clip blade is opened automatically by pressing the button and the hook blade opens manually. Typically paratroopers deployed with the hook blade in the open position for quick emergency use. The clip blade is marked Schrade Walden NY USA STAINLESS and is 98% full or better and shiny with lots of light scratches. The hook blade is basically unused and has good spring tension. The orange jigged scales are in excellent condition with a little shrinkage and it's a later 4 pin model. The knife works great with the blade tip even with the liners closed, good snap and good lockup open with about 1/8" movement at the tip both ways. Rattles if shaken with the blade open as most do that have seen use over the years. VG condition.
