SCHRADE WALDEN Fishtail Vintage Horn celluloid switchblade knife
SCHRADE WALDEN Fishtail Vintage Horn celluloid switchblade knife
Vintage Schrade Walden fishtail switchblade with Horn celluloid handles (scales). This knife was made in Walden, NY sometime between 1946 and 1956 and was designated the model #151. It measures 4 inches closed and 7.25 inches open with brass liners & nickel silver bolsters, button and safety cap. The blade is nearly full with patina and light scratches and is marked SCHRADE WALDEN NY on the front tang and the back US PAT 2304601 which is the patent number for a blade brake by J Louis Schrade to prevent kickback. The scales are very attractive and in good condition with couple of tiny pin cracks and lots of handling marks & scratches on the scales. The knife works great with blade tip seating below the liners closed, good snap and good lockup with barely any movement at the tip. Does not rattle if shaken. Safety works. Really nice example of a vintage Schrade fishtail switchblade. EX- condition.
