Vintage Schrade Walden Hunters Pride Folding guard switchblade knife made in Walden, NY between 1946 and 1956 and designated pattern 153. Measures 4 7/8 inches closed and 8 3/4" open with steel liners & bolsters with nickel silver guards, button and safety. The blade is full with most of the original finish intact and some light scratches and some spotting especially on the back of the blade. The original HUNTER'S PRIDE etch is very strong and easy to read. The tang is stamped SCHRADE WALDEN NY. The Black (stagged) jigged synthetic scales are in excellent condition! The knife works well with the blade tip deep in the well closed, strong snap and good lockup with about 1/16" up and down at the tip. Does rattle if shaken when open as most of these used nearly 100 year old large switchblades do. EX+ condition.
