z Schrade Cut Co 1544 3/4 Hunter Switchblade knife

Schrade Cut Co large Hunter switchblade with black jigged (stagged) celluloid scales (handles). This is the largest switchblade knife made by Schrade measuring 4 7/8" closed and 8 3/4" open with steel liners. It was designated the model 1544 3/4 STG and was made in Walden, NY sometime between 1916 and 1946. The blade is stamped SCHRADE CUT CO WALDEN, NY on the front and three patents on the rear of 09, 10, 16. The blade is 99% full with patina and some light pits and spots, but overall very nice blade that could be cleaned to look nearly new. The jigged black scales are in good condition, but there are some pin cracks by the top pins as you see with many of these due to small area of scale between the pin and edge of the handle. The knife works well with the blade tip seating deep, strong snap and very good lockup when open.
