Schrade Cut Co Hunter bone switchblade

Schrade Cut Co large hunter switchblade made in Walden, NY sometime between 1916 and 1946. This is the largest switchblade knife made by Schrade measuring 4 7/8" close and 8 3/4" open with steel liners. The blade is nearly full with most of the original factory finish under a light layer of 80 years of patina and is stamped Schrade Cut Co over Walden, NY. The backside has three patent dates 09, 10 and 16. The jigged bone scales are in great condition and are very attractive. The knife works well with the blade tip seating well, strong snap and average lockup with about 1/4 inch up and down at the tip and a little side to side. Rattles if shaken with the blade open, as most of these do after being used for many years. Safety works.
