Schrade Cut Co Spearpoint Scout Bone automatic knife 1553

This is a rare Spearpoint blade version of the Schrade Cut Co 1553 scout switchblade knife. These are very hard to find and most likely were made in much smaller numbers than the more common clip blade versions. The knife was made by the Schrade Cutlery Co of Walden, NY sometime between 1916 and 1946. It measures 4.25 inches closed and just under 7.25 inches open with steel liners and steel bolsters & button. The spear point blade is 98% full and shiny with light scratches. Blade has been lightly cleaned. The jigged bone scales (handles) are in excellent condition with no cracks or chips. The knife works great with the blade tip below the liners when closed, nice snap and good lockup with just a little movement each way at the tip when open. Does not rattle if shaken when open. Safety works.
