Schrade Cut Co medium double Tortoise celluloid switchblade

This knife was made by the Schrade Cutlery Co of Walden, NY sometime between 1916 and 1946. This knife was designated the 7404S with Tortoise celluloid scales and brass liners. It has two blades that are each activated by pressing one of two buttons (one on each side). The knife measures 3 3/8" closed and 7 1/8" with both blades open. The knife has seen light use over the years but both blades are nearly full and have much of the original finish still visible. The large blade is stamped SCHRADE CUT CO WALDEN NY and has some spotting on both sides. The pen blade is marked with three patent dates, 09,10 & 16 and is extra nice.

The knife works well with both blades seated well closed, both open fully when buttons are pressed and both lock open, but the large blade has extra movement up and down at theh tip. The scales are beautiful and in good condition with one hairline crack by the safety on the front. Great old knife in very good condition.
