SCHRADE CUT CO medium double Early Dreamsicle cell automatic knife
This is an early SCHRADE CUT CO medium double with Dreamsicle celluloid automatic knife pattern number 7404AC. It was made by the Schrade Cutlery Co of Walden, NY somewhere around 1910-1916 so it's a 100+ year old American made switchblade. It measures 3 3/8" closed and 7 inches open with brass liners and nickel silver buttons and safeties. Both blades are mostly full and shiny with just a little light peppering in spots and a little light active ruse on base of pen blade. Main blade stamped Schrade Cut Co Walden, NY and the small pen blade is marked with three early patent dates Feb 13, 06, Feb 26, 07 & Sept 13, 10. The Cream Orange streaked (Dreamsicle) celluloid scales are in very good condition. The knife works well with both blade tips even with the liners closed, open fully with no kickback and both lock open, but large blade has excessive up and down of 3/8" at the tip. Rattles if shaken with blades open. Both safeties work. VG- condition.
