Vintage SCHRADE CUT CO M2 Bone handled WWII Paratrooper Military issue switchblade knife made in Walden NY in the 1940s by the Schrade Cutlery Co under contract with the US Government and issued to soldiers during the war. It measures 4.25 inches closed and 7 1/4 inches open with steel liners, bolsters and lanyard ring (staple) and nickel silver button and safety cap. The clip blade is 93% full or better with patina scratches, spotting and some pitting mostly on the backside. The tang is stamped SCHRADE CUT CO WALDEN NY on the front tang and US PATS DEC 21, 09, SEPT 13, 10 & JUNE 6, 16 on the reverse. The jigged bone scales (handles) are very nice condition with no cracks. The knife works well with the blade tip below liners closed, good snap and fair lockup open with less than 1/8" up and down at the tip. Rattles if shaken with blade open. Safety works. VG+ condition.
