Vintage SCHRADE CUT CO M2 Bone handled WWII Paratrooper Military issue switchblade knife was made in Walden NY in the 1940s by the Schrade Cutlery Co under contract with the US Government and issued to soldiers during the war. It measures 4.25 inches closed and 7 1/8" open with steel liners, bolsters and lanyard ring (staple) and nickel silver button and safety. The clip blade is 92% full or better and shiny with some light scratches and some scattered light pitting, mainly on the backside. The tang is stamped SCHRADE CUT CO WALDEN NY on the front and US PATS DEC 21, 09, SEPT 13, 10 & JUNE 6, 16 on the reverse. The jigged bone scales are very nice with no cracks or chips. The knife works well with the blade tip well below liners closed, good snap and very good lockup open with less than 1/16" up and down at the tip. Does not rattle if shaken with blade open. Safety works. VG+ condition.
