Vintage SCHRADE CUT CO M2 Jigged Bone WWII Paratrooper Military issue switchblade knife. This knife was made in Walden NY in the 1940s by the Schrade Cutlery Co under contract with the US Government and issued to soldiers during the war. It measures 4 1/4 inches closed and 7 3/8" open with steel liners, bolsters and lanyard ring (staple) and nickel silver button & safety cap. The blade is 99% full with lots of light scratches from use/sharpening and is stamped SCHRADE CUT CO WALDEN NY on the front tang and US PATS DEC 21, 09, SEPT 13, 10 & JUNE 6, 16 on the rear. The jigged bone scales are very attractive with a patch between the button and safety and a large nicely done patch on the backside, possibly done by a soldier. Extra pics show the patches. The knife works great with the blade tip seating deep, opens well and good lockup open with less than 1/16" up and down at the tip. Barely rattles if shaken with the blade open. Safety works. VG+ condition.
