SCHRADE CUT CO M2 Bone WWII Paratrooper Military issue switchblade knife. This knife was made in Walden NY in the 1940s by the Schrade Cutlery Co under contract with the US Government and issued to soldiers during the war. It measures 4.25 inches closed and nearly 7 3/8" open with steel liners, bolsters and lanyard ring (staple) and nickel silver button and safety. The blade is 97% full with heavy patina, some small pits and a few tiny rust spots and is stamped SCHRADE CUT CO WALDEN NY on the front tang and US PATS DEC 21, 09, SEPT 13, 10 & JUNE 6, 16. One small nick in the cutting edge near the tip. The jigged bone scales are excellent condition and beautiful. The knife works great with the blade tip below the liners closed, strong snap and very good lockup open. Does not rattle if shaken with blade open. EX+ condition.
