SCHRADE CUT CO M2 Bone WWII Paratrooper Military issue switchblade knife was made in Walden NY in the 1940s by the Schrade Cutlery Co under contract with the US Government and issued to soldiers during the war. It measures 4.25 inches closed and 7 1/8" open with steel liners, bolsters and lanyard ring (staple) and nickel silver button and safety cap. The clip point blade is 96% full with heavy patina, scratches and some spotting and is stamped SCHRADE CUT CO WALDEN NY on the front tang and US PATS DEC 21, 09, SEPT 13, 10 & JUNE 6, 16. The jigged bone scales are in very good condition with one small patch on the front near the bolster that you can see in the pics that looks to have been done a long time ago. The knife works great with the blade tip seating deep in the well closed, strong snap and very good lockup open with about 1/16" up and down and a little side to side at the tip. Barely rattles if shaken with blade open. Safety works. VG+ condition.
