Vintage SCHRADE CUT CO M2 Bone handled WWII Paratrooper Military issue switchblade knife was made in Walden NY in the 1940s by the Schrade Cutlery Co under contract with the US Government and issued to soldiers during the war. It measures 4.25 inches closed and just over 7 1/4" open with steel liners, bolsters and lanyard ring (staple) and nickel silver button and safety. The clip blade is 97% full or better and shiny with some light scratches and very nice overall. The tang is stamped SCHRADE CUT CO WALDEN NY on the front and US PATS DEC 21, 09, SEPT 13, 10 & JUNE 6, 16 on the reverse. The jigged bone scales are very nice with no cracks or chips. The knife works well with the blade tip well below liners and centered closed, good snap and very good lockup open with about 1/16" up and down at the tip. Does rattle if shaken with blade open as most of these do that have seen use/service. Safety does not work properly as many of these did not. VG+ condition.
