Schrade Cut Co large Hunter switchblade with zig zag jigged bone scales (handles). This is the largest switchblade knife made by Schrade and was designated the model 1543 3/4. This early version was made in Walden, NY sometime between 1910 and 1916. It measures 4 7/8" closed and over 8.5 inches open with steel liners and bolsters and nickel silver button and safety. The clip blade is stamped SCHRADE CUT CO WALDEN, NY on the front and US PATS Feb 13, 06, Feb 26, 07 & SEPT 13, 10. The blade is 94% full with patina lots of light scratches and some spots. The Zig Zag jigged bone scales are held on with brass pins and are gorgeous and in nice condition with one little piece of bone missing on the back scale by the bolster. The knife works great with the blade tip seating deep in the well when closed, strong snap and locks open well with 1/8 inch up and down at the tip. Safety works. VG+ condition.
