Schrade Cut Co large Hunter switchblade with picked bone scales (handles). This is the largest switchblade knife made by Schrade measuring 4 7/8" closed and 8 3/4" open with steel liners & bolsters and nickel silver button & safety cap. It was designated the model 1543 3/4 and this early version was made in Walden, NY sometime between 1910 and 1916. The blade is stamped SCHRADE CUT CO WALDEN, NY on the front and three patents on the rear of 06, 07 & 10. The blade is 99% full with patina lots of light scratches and some spots. Really nice blade. The picked bone scales are held on with brass pins and are gorgeous and in near perfect condition with one tiny hairline crack by a pin on rear scale. The knife works great with the blade tip seating deep in the well when closed, strong snap and locks open TIGHT. Safety works. EX+ condition.
