SCHRADE CUT CO Fishtail Green swirl handles Vintage switchblade knife
Schrade Cut Co fishtail switchblade with green swirl celluloid scales (handles). This knife was made in Walden, NY sometime between 1916 and 1946 and was designated the model 1514G. It measures 4 inches closed and 7.25 inches open with brass liners and nickel silver bolsters, button and safety. The tang is stamped Schrade Cut Co over Walden, NY and the rear is stamped US PATS DEC 21, 09, SEPT 13, 10 and JUNE 6,16. The blade is nearly full with light patina, some light scratches and pepper spots. The scales are very attractive green/white swirl with the usual tiny pin cracks near the top bolsters and some handling marks/scuffs. The knife works great with blade tip seating about 1/16" above liners closed, opens fully and fair lockup with a little over 1/8" up and down at the tip. Does not rattle if shaken with blade open. Safety works. VG+ condition.
