SCHRADE CUT CO 1613 3/4 Saber Grind Hunter WARNER BROS Movie Prop Knife

Vintage SCHRADE CUT CO 1613 3/4 Saber Grind Hunter WARNER BROS Movie Prop Knife made in Walden, NY between 1916 and 1946. This knife was purchased from an ex Movie Prop guy who worked for Warner Brothers for many years. He wasn't sure which movie it was used for, but it has a Warner Bros property ID number engraved on the backspring "WB51557. It has been altered for the movie by having the blade shape changed and a pin added to the backspring by drilling a hole through it. He said it was to attach the knife to a line, but the pin is broken off. There is a drawing showing how the blade shape was altered for the movie with the original blade outline and inside that a shadowed outline of the new shape. Looks like they used a grinder to change the finish on the blade (look used) leaving lots of grind marks. The knife works great and the jigged bone scales are in excellent condition. Rare opportunity to own a piece of movie switchblade history, though it might be hard to figure out what movie it was used in? It would be fun watching a lot of old movies trying to find it! ;^)
