Vintage Schrade Cut Co #1613 3/4 large hunter switchblade knife with saber grind blade made in Walden, NY sometime between 1916 and 1946. This is the largest switchblade knife made by Schrade measuring 4 7/8" close and 8 5/8 inches open with steel liners and nickel silver bolsters, button, safety cap and peened pins. The blade is 95% full or better and mostly shiny with light scratches from sharpening/use and scattered pitting and the tang is stamped Schrade Cut Co Walden, NY. The backside is stamped US PATS DEC 21, 09, SEPT 13, 10 and JUNE 6, 16. The blade was likely originally etched "SCHRADE HUNTING KNIFE", but the etches were fragile and easily rubbed off. The light colored jigged bone scales are in excellent condition with no cracks. Very unusual to see these with this light colored bone. The knife works well with the blade tip seating deep and centered, strong snap and tight lockup open. Does not rattle if shaken with blade open. Safety works. EX- condition.
