Here's a well used (well loved) Schrade Cut Co large hunter switchblade with saber grind blade made in Walden, NY sometime between 1916 and 1946 pattern number 1613 3/4. This is the largest switchblade knife made by Schrade measuring 4 7/8" close and 8 3/8" open with steel liners and nickel silver bolsters, button, safety cap and peened brass pins. The blade is about 90% full with lots of deep scratches, spotting and peppering under a light layer of patina and is stamped Schrade Cut Co over Walden, NY though hard to read. The backside has three patent dates 09, 10 and 16. These were marketed as SCHRADE HUNTING KNIFE. The jigged bone scales are in fair condition with some hairline cracks and a small patch by one pin. The knife works fairly well with the blade tip below liners closed, opens fully, but does not lock open properly. Safety does not work. Fair used working condition.
