This is another vintage RPK (Russian Prison Knife) that I got direct from Russia. These were made by inmates to be sold to the public to raise money for the prisons in the 1970s and 80s, I believe. I'm still researching it. These knives are all one-of-a-kind pieces of Russian cutlery Folk Art and they are a lot of fun to collect and make wonderful wall display pieces. They can be found in all shapes and sizes and so far I haven't found any two exactly alike. This one reminds me of a hoof knife so I'm going with that. It measures just over 7.25 inches open with steel liners and synthetic scales that give the appearance of stone. The blade appears to be full and as with most of these RPKs there is no name stamp. The blade and bolsters are engraved. The knife works great with the blade tip seating deep closed, good snap and good lockup with a little movement. Cool old Russian RPK automatic knife.
