This is another vintage RPK (Russian Prison Knife) from Russia. These were made by inmates to be sold to the public to raise money for the prisons in the 1970s and 80s, I believe. I'm still researching it. These knives are all one-of-a-kind pieces of Russian cutlery Folk Art and they are a lot of fun to collect and make wonderful wall display pieces. They can be found in all shapes and sizes and so far I haven't found any two exactly alike. This one reminds me of a weird Leg so I'm going with that. It measures 18.5cm (7.25 inches) open with steel liners and button. The unusual saber grind blade is full and shiny with lots of light scratches. The white synthetic scales (handles) are in really nice condition and have blue crystals on each side and copper wire inlay pattern. The knife works great with the blade tip seating deep closed, good snap and good lockup with a little movement. Cool old Russian RPK automatic knife. VG condition.
