RPK Russian Prison Knife Vintage Gunstock Swing Guard switchblade knife. These knives were made by inmates of Russian prisons back in the 1960s and 70s to be sold to raise capital for the prisons. They are all hand made and very unique and beautiful pieces of Russian cutlery Folk Art. This knife measures 26cm (10.25 inches) open with a steel frame, button and swing guards and brass engraved bolsters. The hollow ground long clip blade is nearly full and has all of the original finish with some light scratches and no markings. The gunstock shaped scales are brown synthetic and are in nice condition. The knife works well with the blade tip seating deep in the well when closed, smooth strong snap and decent lockup when open with a little movement each way and rattles if shaken when open. The blade is activated by pressing the rectangular button and is closed with a picklock backspring release. Very cool vintage Russian RPK gunstock swing guard switchblade.
