RPK Russian Prison Knife Vintage Toad sticker switchblade knife. These knives were made by inmates of Russian prisons back in the 1960s and 70s to be sold to raise capital for the prisons. They are all hand made and very unique and beautiful pieces of Russian cutlery Folk Art. This knife measures 25cm (10 inches) open with aluminum liners and steel button. The hollow ground straight back blade appears to be nearly full and has all of the original finish with no maker's marks, but it does have some light scratches and some poor sharpening. The knife works well with the blade tip seating deep in the well when closed, smooth snap and tight lockup when open. The blade tip does peek out when you close it, but if you push down on the blade and turn the button it sits down inside the blade well. Interesting design. Also has removable plate over button if repair, or adjustment is needed. It is button open, button close. Very cool vintage Russian RPK toad sticker switchblade.
