RPK Russian Prison Knife Vintage Gunstock Swing Guard switchblade knife all metal. These knives were made by inmates of Russian prisons back in the 1960s and 70s to be sold to raise capital for the prisons. They are all hand made and very unique and beautiful pieces of Russian cutlery Folk Art. This knife measures 24.5cm (9 5/8 inches) open with a stainless steel frame, carbon steel button and nickel silver guards. The straight back blade is mostly full and has some light scratches and no markings with cool one-piece folding guards. The gunstock shaped scales are non magnetic stainless steel with light circular patterns. The knife works well with the blade tip seating deep in the well when closed, smooth strong snap and decent lockup when open with a little movement each way and rattles if shaken when open. The blade is activated by pressing the rectangular button and is closed with a backspring release. Very cool vintage Russian RPK gunstock swing guard switchblade. EX- condition.
