Vintage Russian RPK (Russian Prison Knife) switchblade. These knives were made by inmates of Russian prisons back in the 1960s and 70s to be sold to raise capital for the prisons. They were all hand made and very unique and beautiful pieces of Russian cutlery Folk Art. This knife measures 12cm (4 5/8 inches) open with brass liners and carbon steel blade. I believe the blade to be full. Very colorful hand painted liners covered with clear acrylic with an image resembling Dopey from Snow White on the front and a gnome with a red hat on the other side. The knife works well with the blade tip seating deep in the well when closed, smooth strong snap and Tight. Has a ring near the end to attach a keychain. EX+ condition.
