RPK 31cm Russian Prison Knife Swing Guard Pig sticker vintage automatic knife likely made in a Russian prison by inmates to generate income for the prison sometime between 1950 and 1980. These are usually One-of-a-kind pieces that were hand made, but there are usually similarities between them. Most are coil spring fired with metal plate bolsters held on with screws, as is this knife. It measures 30.5cm (12 inches) open and 7 1/8 inches closed with steel liners, one piece guard and button. The straight back blade is full with a blood groove and no markings. The handles/scales appear to be made of a brown resin and are in good condition. The knife works great with blade tip seating into retracting tip protector. Pigsticker usually refers to a knife with an extra long blade that extends beyond the frame when closed. Blade opens strong and Tight lockup. Takes a little practice to close this one because of the retractable tip protector. VG+ condition.
