RPK Russian Prison Knife Vintage mostly metal switchblade knife. These knives were made by inmates of Russian prisons back in the 1960s and 70s to be sold to raise capital for the prisons. They are all hand made and very unique and beautiful pieces of Russian cutlery Folk Art. This knife measures just over 27cm (10.5 inches) open with a steel one piece frame & steel bolster plates. Pretty blue sparkle plastic inserts on both sides of the frame. The straight back saber grooved blade is full and shiny with a few light scratches. The knife works well with the blade tip seating deep in the well, smooth strong snap and Tight lockup when open. It is a little stiff to close. You have to push on the blade after sliding the button for it to release. Just takes a little practice. It is button open, button close. Very cool vintage Russian RPK gunstock swinger switchblade.
