RPK Russian Prison Knife Vintage SPIDER switchblade knife. These knives were made by inmates of Russian prisons back in the 1960s and 70s to be sold to raise capital for the prisons. They are all hand made and very unique and beautiful pieces of Russian cutlery Folk Art. This knife measures 25.5cm (10 inches) open with a steel frame. The saber ground clip style blade is full and has all of the original finish with no markings and fish scaler/saw grooves on the spine. The small scale inserts in the middle of the knife are clear acrylic with 3 dimensional spiders inside. The other covers at tan and synthetic with grooves and in good condition. The knife works well with the blade tip seating deep in the well when closed, smooth snap and good lockup when open with a some up and down movement, but springs back when you let go. It is button open, button close. Very cool vintage Russian RPK SPIDER switchblade.
