Vintage RPK 25cm Russian Prison Knife Red luster Brass vintage automatic knife. It is believed that these knives were made by inmates of Russian prisons back in the 1950s through the 1970s to be sold to raise capital for the prisons and given by prison personnel as bribes and gifts. They are all hand made and very unique and beautiful pieces of Russian cutlery Folk Art. This knife measures 25cm (9 7/8 inches) open with brass liners, bolsters & pins. The long clip hollow grind blade is nearly full and has some light scratches and no markings. The scales are clear acrylic over red shimmery finish. The knife works well with the blade tip seating deep in the well when closed, smooth strong snap and decent lockup when open with some up and down at the tip that springs back when you let go. The blade is activated by pressing the button and is closed the same way. EX condition.
