Vintage 24cm Russian RPK (Russian Prison Knife) switchblade. These knives were made by inmates of Russian prisons sometime between the mid 1940s and 70s to be sold, traded, or used as gifts/bribes. They are all hand made and very unique and beautiful pieces of Russian cutlery Folk Art. This knife measures 24cm (9.5 inches) open with a steel frame. I believe the straight back saber grind blade to be mostly full and it has been poorly sharpened leaving many deep scratches. The knife works well with the blade tip seating deep in the well when closed, good snap and good lockup open with 1/8" up and down at the tip. The blade is activated by pressing the button to open and to close the blade. I'm not sure what the scale (handle) material is, but it's tan with jigging and in very good condition. Very cool vintage Russian RPK switchblade. VG condition
