Vintage Russian RPK (Russian Prison Knife) switchblade. These knives were made by inmates of Russian prisons back in the 1960s and 70s to be sold to raise capital for the prisons. They were all hand made and very unique and beautiful pieces of Russian cutlery Folk Art. This knife measures 24cm (9.5 inches) open with steel liners and guards. The saber grind straight back blade is nearly full and shiny with lots of scratches. Soft wood scales are in good condition with some finish loss. The knife works well with the blade tip seating deep in the well when closed, smooth strong snap and Tight lockup when open. Press button to open and press button to release blade to close. VG condition.
